It be just because I'm replacing a 15 yr old model and today's units are quieter. Sliding the chassis in and out is kinda of a pain and there is no fan speed indicator on the unit itself. That's only a problem because it's hard to tell from the fan noise what speed your on so I guess that's not such a bad thing but I have to wonder why not. Completely Chinese made like all the others but it's basically a copy of the original tried and true design. Another nice feature is the dehumidifier mode which I didn't notice on other makes. J&R delivered it in a couple days instead of 10-14 days as stated and in good condition too. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. yes! it is "ultraquiet" and it cools!! By x.figaro I paid at least twice as much for a friedrich, than a comparable 7800 btu ac because i cant sit still, study, sleep, think or do anything for that matter with a lound constant noise in the background.
