By Kate Fairly easy to set Up for a novice Used it to cool a huge bedroom over a 4- car garage that was in the high 90's consistently this unit kept it a cool 70 all summer Would buy it again 7 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Very bad, and somewhat useless. By William Rafti If you are looking for a space hogging, flood prone, inefficient and poorly thought out electronic device to start fights within the family then buy this nightmare machine before it goes out of production! A flimsy un-insulated hose and plastic window baffle allows almost as much hot air back into the room as it expels. Set on Maximum Cool to 67F the unit dropped the temperature in a small room less than ten degrees after more than two hours; on humid days the mild temperature drop nearly vanishes but the water output doubles to about 3 gallons every ten hours. This unit only holds a half gallon and weighs almost 100 pounds but has almost no clearance to drain the unit- plus it's on wheels so putting it on something leads to it wanting to topple, and the barb on the drain spigot does not fit any known hose size (the barbs are non-standard), so good luck concocting something to raise it up so you can drain it into a container when it's full! It comes with a fancy remote control but since it can't adequetly cool a 10 x 10 room I can't imagine ever being far enough from it to make the remote sensible, but then again almost all the control buttons are on the remote, so you'll have to use it (keep a flash light handy to read it with after dark). It also insists on tossing what little cold air it produces up to the ceiling, there is no way to correct this as the vents automatically open to the upright position when the unit comes on. For me this "thing" was a substantial waste of time, money and good will between family members. As an air conditioner (cooling) I give it one star (of five) As a dehumidifier it's as good as any other As an ion generator it's giganticly large and not of much use unless the humidity is low.
