Very loud hum from fan. It does a great job cooling if you can stand the noise. Not recommended for a room with a television. By BullDog Living in the South, it is difficult to get out of the heat. Our central air just does not keep up with the heat here. So I had a handy-man install the Frigidare 8,000 BTU unit in my home/office room.It has been running constant, night and day since April without missing a beat. I can turn the temp down to "cold" and it works just fine. It runs quiet and cools me off.In fact our electric bill has been less since I had it installed... go figure.I highly recommend this unit. 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Badly damaged By itsykay The housing for this product arrived badly damaged. Large dent in the right rear-causes the right side grill not to fit right.It was not noticed until the installer pulled it out of the box. Also the front grate had a crack in it. I would have returned it except my husband is on oxygen and I had already waited too long for the installer, considering my husbands condition.-I had no choice but to have it installed as is. Cosmetically the housing issue is not terrible as it is covered up by the thru-the-wall casing, which I also ordered.I certainly expect I should get a replacement for the front grille at least.Delivery damage seems to be a real problem-I will have to consider more seriously when I order thru Amazon or online anywhere.
