Most helpful customer reviews 19 of 19 people found the following review helpful. 24000 2 Ton Btu Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner Unit Ac System Heat Pump + Free Shipping + Free Installation Kit By 1 I have had this unit installed for about 3 weeks now. Overall I am very happy with it. I recieved the unit 4 days sooner than expected and in good packaging and condition. The items were as advertised, with the exception that it actually came with 25' of line, not 15'. Installation was not difficult. Although the instructions were not always clear; a litle common sense and looking at the parts usually worked fine. (The instructions could use a proof-reading by someone who actually speaks english and preferably knows something about A/C, but they were better than many translations now days). The unit cools my 350 SQ FT bonus room and 500 SQ FT garage way quicker than the A/C in the house cools the house. My only complaint is that the fan will never turn off in the Auto or Cooling modes for some reason The A/C will kick off but the fan won't. In the Heat and Dry modes the fan kicks off once the room reaches the appropriate temperature. It is a little frusterating as I have to turn the unit off if I don't want to waste energy when I'm not in the room. The unit's saving grace is even though it has been about 100 Deg. F lately, it will cool the room to around 78 deg in about 8 minutes, so it's not a problem to leave it off when I'm not using the room. The precharged system and purgeable lines are an awesome idea and work great! The is absolutely no need for an HVAC installer or any specialy tools or equipment. I would say that is one of the key features of this system. I would certainly reccomend this unit, even though it appears that the price has increased $400 USD since I purchased it a couple months ago. It is still a good value. UPDATE: If you run the unit on "dry" mode, the fan will only run when the A/C pump is running, as opposed to "cool" mode, where the fan runs non-stop but the A/C pump will cycle on and off as needed Because "dry" mode does exactly what I wanted, I would increase my rating of the product from "4" to "5." 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful. Nice cool and quiet By Anoosh Moadab Although the instruction say it should be installed by a specialist, I installed it myself. I watch a lot of home improvement shows like This Old House. I used this for a cabin in the foothills. For power I am using a generator. The unit is quiet on the inside, and not too bad on the outside. It is mostly the humming of the generator that I have work on. Most of all the unit does cool well. We hit 100 degrees over the weekend, so we moved into the cabin, and within 10 minutes it had 700 square feet cooled. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Perfect Match By GP After finding the carrier (very little info provided) got the equipt in perfect conditions Installation was easy. As stated in other reviews the installation flier(no manual) could be much better. After all install was done decided to contract an A/C pro to test system for leaks, make the vacuum on the pipes and finally open the gas. One hour of paid work gave me peace of mind on the final stage. The system worked as expected on both cooling and heating the 550sqf. The inside unit is a little noisy. Otherwise excellent choice.
