Most helpful customer reviews 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful. Large Fire - Large A / C by cooling in NJ we have a 3 year old Frigidaire 22,500, which is wonderful. It was a great alternative to cheap but quality Freidrich replacement. When it was time for our bedroom a / c to replace, I automatically slipped into the Frigidaire brand. Because it is heavy, the fan is quite loud at high, acceptable low. It cools a loft that the sun all day event, because the roof's east-west exposure. Used mostly at night. Cool-down from 90 to 75 degrees is about 10-15 minutes. Really! If during the day, it's cool for five minutes. Large machine. Excellent value - shipped. 10 of 10 people found this review helpful. Want to "Go Big"? By Some Guy That average is as big as you can go with the 110 volt plug. It takes 12 amp power, then plug it into any circuit will likely have little room for other purposes (eg entertainment center, microwave, etc.) Note the height of the window. Some styles of window displays is not high enough - check your. The pain to install. 2 people and takes me 45 minutes every time I make one of these big boys. Cold? Oh yes. And 'the full 15,000 BTUs. A snowstorm also potent than 12,000 units. It will be cool in any room you put it too and probably the adjacent them. Strong? Compared with others on the market today, it does. Even compared to 5 years ago? Not really. If you have to fit the window, and a big wad of extra money to pay the premium size, the only concern I would have is 1) noise and 2) shipping charges. (Box with this topic is too much for a poor man, while providing less cash to 6/8/10/12K BTU unit manageable). 3 stars because I think it is too expensive and find Frigidaire avg. quality. Also consider ... Here is the criticism made in another model that is relevant to this: ------------------ among family and rental homes that puts all types and sizes of the test each year in the hot Texas sun Here is my experience: For a solid window air conditioner, it really comes down to two options: Frigidaire and LG. The "sweet spot" in the current economy / reliability / price is the 10,000 BTU unit, regardless of brand / manufacturer. Recently have been doing 12,000 to 15,000 BTU 110V (normal output) units. The truth is, 12,000 BTU 20% stronger, but you pay 50% more than here on Amazon. The 15,000-BTU is a beast throwing snowballs, but in a larger number of cases that are not adapted to the window (height-wise) and has a long history in the market so I do not know how you do long-term Pros LG - LG 10,000 BTU is my "workhorse". The best value. Run them until they fail in 4-7 years, and then swap 'em out for another. 1) Better warranty (but really, who cares if it's because you sit there, sweat breaks) 2) usually lasts an additional 2-3 years in comparison to other brands 3) The LG is only rarely - it is slowly degraded in During a season 4) They are more tolerant neglect (eg dirty filter ... can not rely on tenants to keep your stuff for maintenance) 5) Better in harsh environments (direct sunlight, limited airflow) 6 seats) Lower "lemon" Rate Frigidaire Pro - For the family, which I prefer to run to 12,000 and 15,000 BTU Frigidaire. They are a little nicer, and I think it's worth it to break even much earlier. (Value and reliability are not important, but I must, by including a new boxed parts around to compensate, because they always fail at the most inopportune moments. Most people can not.) ) 1) has a little 'nicer looking 2) Better 3) quieter 4) A little' easier installation 5) circuit voltage / drain startup seems a lot less (think flashing lights when the compressor is on) separate from other thoughts: 1) One thing to learn new units for the highest (efficiency EER) and judgments, using the design of thinner fins of the heat exchanger for non-experts, this means that small space just hangs with.
