Blown Away By Smiley I needed a 210 volt through the wall a/c for a NYC studio apt.with the 3 pronged electrical outlet. Not only can the unit make the approximately 320 sq. ft. apt. cold in a short period of time in a quiet fashion, but the directing vents work correctly. The remote control is awesome! You can set the temperature you like and the unit will turn itself off and on to maintain the temperature. This is great when sleeping, so you don't wake up in the middle of the night either freezing or sweltering. The remote is great if you live in a 2 level apt. or a loft. The frigidaire also has 3 speeds and an energy efficient mode. So far the unit is terrific. 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Sleeved air conditioner By K. Hettich My old AC unit died in the middle of the heat wave early this summer. These through-the-wall units are rare to begin with, and cost is accordingly high. I'm stuck at home so had to shop online. After a week of looking & doing research, I found this AC unit at a cost I found reasonable. I thought I understood the reviews so I ordered it. It arrived in good condition when expected. I had a friend ready to help put it in. Then he tried to plug it in and the plug was different. Without reading the installation directions, he merely left to locate a converter plug. While he was gone I read the booklet and found out that it MUST have an outlet that fitted the plug. It needs an outlet like that for my oven, not the usual wall outlet. It was then I understood the one negative review I read here. Now I understand that this unit takes not the usual household 110 current, but 220. I wrote to Amazon and they credited my account immediately, even before I sent it back. I did suggest that a picture or drawing of the plug should be included in the description to prevent this from happening again. 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful. CRACKED AIR CONDITIONER By Emil Sullivan You'd think that a heavy plastic electric product would be shipped with adequate protection. The product I received wasn't. The external front grate on this unit was cracked and as a result I've got ugly masking tape and gorilla glue holding it together so I won't rattle. Not what I expected from anyone that sells through Amamzon, I had nothing but stellar reviews, this was disappointment. Why not return it? It was desperately needed and the burdensome, cumbersome task of a return would have been too physically challenging, I'm frail and elderly. tsk tsk See all 4 customer reviews...
