It is supposed to cool 640 square Ft but does a pretty good of cooling the entire house (2412 square ft), that is until the temperature got above 100 degrees. I was so impressed with the 12,000 BTU unit, that I ordered the 22,000 BTU Frigidaire for the only double hung window in my house, got it installed, and tried to plug it into the wall receptacle...surprise, surprise, it is a 220V plug. I got an electrician to put in a 220V receptacle for me and the AC works wonderfully so far. Amazon.com did not mention anything about power requirements, and I never thought to ask. 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful.
